MEMBERSHIPS
Counselling at the moment is unregulated, so I belong to two organisations, which guarantees to my Clients that I am a safe and qualified Counsellor.

The first is the most well-known, British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy or BACP.
They hold a public record of Counsellors who are supervised, undertake at least 30 hours of Continuing Professional Development each year and have a contractual agreement with them to abide by their Ethical Framework (this can be found on the BACP website). I am an accredited member, which means I have demonstrated that I offer you all of the above – and more.

The other organisation is similar but more holistic in its approach.
I am an accredited member of NCPS, National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS).
This is their statement:
“As an Accredited Register holder we meet the robust and exacting standards set by the Professional Standards Authority with particular emphasis on public safety and assuring that the best interests of the clients are protected.”
You can find more information on their website. Both organisations require members to have a substantial public liability insurance.
